FAQS

What sensations might I feel?

Examples of these are, but not limited to, feeling hot, cold, tingling, emotional or tired. The duration of the sensation will be specific to you as no individual is the same. Often experiencing a reaction like this is a good thing as your brain is soliciting a change or starting the healing process.

What do I wear?

Light, loose clothing is advised. Things to avoid are thick jumpers without a t-shirt under, tight leggings, jeans, collared shirts.

What is the cost?

Please see Contact & Pricing

Why are there breaks between moves?

In Bowen therapy, the therapist will leave the room for short periods at specific times throughout. These short breaks are carefully placed to allow the brain time to respond to the moves we have performed. The practitioner will also being paying close attention to how your body is reacting to the treatment and may take longer/shorter breaks where required.

"Thanks so much for the Bowen treatment which has helped tremendously. After a couple of days I really noticed the difference and my walking has really improved. I look forward to another session soon."

How long does the treatment last?

1 hour. Your treatment will begin with a consultation or review if you have previously had treatment for the first 10-15 minutes. There is typically then around 45-50 minutes of hands on therapy, dependant on your condition and symptoms.

How many sessions will I need?

Initially we advise at least 3 sessions 5-10 days apart. You may wish to carry this on for more sessions which will be discussed in the review before each treatment. Depending on the severity of the symptoms or condition, we may look to follow up weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or ad-hoc to keep you pain free.

What is the aftercare?

No intense exercise the day of treatment, no contact sport for 48 hours, lots of water, medication as prescribed by healthcare professional, avoid extreme heat or cold after treatment (eg ice bath or hot tubs).

Do you travel?

If you are unable to travel because of mobility or other circumstances, it may be possible for the treatment to happen within your home. This will incur an additional fee based on travel cost and time taken to travel. Please contact Ryan directly for more information.
